Barker Physiotherapists Inc. is committed to transparency in all our dealings with our patients, and this includes being as clear as we can regarding the fees we charge.
Our practice administers its accounts in a POPIA and PAIA compliant manner.
The full document regarding our fees, POPIA responsibilities and consent to treat must be signed when you attend your first session with us please.
We use the tariff structure of the South African Society of Physiotherapy. This is the standard structure used in South Africa. The actual fees associated with the structure may change year on year, but the structure remains a clear and fair structure. Your individual funder may use an alternative structure.
If you choose to use your medical aid or another third-party funder, we will assist you to do this. However, the full and final payment of your account with us is, and will always remain, the legal responsibility of the patient/member, of their legal guardian in case of a minor. The patient is bound by law to settle the account timeously, not your medical aid. If the funder either fails to pay the account on your behalf either in full or in part for any reason, you remain liable to settle the outstanding amount.
This means that it remains your responsibility to make sure the account is paid on time. Please call your medical aid to follow up on the payments.
Please note: There may be additional payments due that your individual medical aid does not cover. You will need to pay these separately. They will appear on your invoice under the “Patient Liable” column if your fund does not over them. There are 2 that are commonly not covered.
- The annual admin fee: This is R100, and must be paid at the first visit
- Consumables: Theraband, strapping, salinet
