Commuting to work, to school, or to the shops can be less than exciting sometimes. The time you spend travelling around often seems like its time wasted. Whether you travel alone, or on public transport, you have probably asked yourself how best to redeem this time to your advantage.
We don’t have a wide selection of radio stations in South Africa, so you may not be able to find a solution to your travel blues here. Often what interests us is just not available.
One way that you can find something meaningful to fill your time with is to listen to podcasts or audiobooks. You can download these to your phone and listen from there.
If you like learning about your health, here are 3 health related podcasts that we think are worth a listen:
- The Quantified Body is a fascinating journey into ways to monitor and adjust all sorts of aspects of your personal heath. Topics range from aspects of your diet to all sorts of wearable devices and biomarkers. Episodes are between 1 and 2 hours in duration.
- Human Performance Outliers (HPO) is hosted by ultra-marathon runner Zach Bitter and athlete and orthopaedic surgeon Dr Shawn Baker. It covers topics looking at the tweaking of sports performances.
- Freakonomics radio. This show isn’t really about health directly, but is almost always solidly fascinating and such fun that your heart and brain are guaranteed to benefit from diving into its huge catalogue.
